Located in Drogenbos, on the outskirts of Brussels, Château Calmeyn is a 19th-century jewel, a testament to the refinement and elegance of its time.
Built between 1852 and 1853 by the renowned architect Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar, it embodied the Italian influence in Belgian neo-classical architecture.
Formerly called Château Rey, it was passed on at the end of the nineteenth century to the Calmeyn family, several members of whom have marked the history of Drogenbos as Mayors. Surrounded by a 33-hectare green estate, once part of the Soignes Forest, the castle is a treasure trove of nature and history.
Its landscaped gardens offer an idyllic setting for walking, with majestic hundred-year-old trees, shaded paths and a magnificent lake surrounded by flowery spaces that change with the seasons.
A true timeless refuge, the estate retains the bucolic and prestigious atmosphere of the great aristocratic residences of the nineteenth century.
Le Château Calmeyn joue un rôle actif dans la vie culturelle locale en accueillant des expositions, des concerts et des festivals. Son cadre historique et son atmosphère raffinée en font un lieu privilégié pour les amateurs de patrimoine et d’art.
